ServusTV: Hubble Mission Universum

The Space Shuttle Story

Project Details

Between the first launch on April 12, 1981, and the final landing on July 21, 2011, NASA’s space shuttle fleet – Columbia, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavour — flew 135 missions, helped construct the International Space Station and inspired generations. What made NASA do this ?

This is the story about on of the most bold enterprise in human kind – creating a bus sized space craft capable of flying into orbit multiple times.

Together with former German astronaut Ulrich Walter we revisited the sites at Kennedy Space Center, that played a crucial role in the Space Shuttle program. We interviewed astronauts, that flew with the shuttle as well as ingeneers that developed it.
